In Character Information

character name: Ciel Phantomhive
Fandom: Kuroshitsuji (manga)
Timeline: Post chapter 50. (After the Phantomhive Manor Murder arc.)
character's age: 13

powers, skills, pets and equipment:

Powers/skills: Ciel is a normal human child, but an intelligent one who enjoys playing and succeeding at various games, including chess and pool. He is a shrewd businessman, and manages the Funtom Company with ease, for a thirteen year-old. He also holds a contract with a demon, and is a decent shot, as he does hunt occasionally.

Equipment: His revolver…? If that’s alright.

canon history: Here...
And here!

personality: Ciel is a difficult individual to understand, because there are many sides to his personality, and there are only few who know of the reasoning behind the things he does. Despite his typical disinterested and cold attitude, he cares very much for those close to him, such as his cousin and fiancée Elizabeth, whom he isn’t afraid to protect even if it puts him in danger. Though he often acts with wearied apathy toward her (and others), he is shown to be willing to get into harm’s way to make sure those close to him are safe. He doesn’t enjoy having this pointed out to him, however, as Sebastian does sometimes, and will deny any claims made regarding it. Also, despite his young age, Ciel has a level of intelligence beyond his years that comes in handy when running a company and carrying out the Queen’s orders. Whether it’s merely for winning a game, or for discovering the identity of Jack the Ripper, he is shown to have a level of thinking beyond the average thirteen year-old.

Being the head of a noble family and the head of a large company comes with great responsibility, and Ciel certainly has the maturity to handle it. He is very business-like and detached in his dealings, caring little for alliances and partnerships beyond the realm of things that will benefit him and the company. He gives out very little trust to others, with Sebastian as an exception, and works with a fierce determination toward his goals. Of course, the main one of these being his desires for revenge, for which he will go to any end, as shown by his contract with Sebastian, a demon. While also carrying out his duties under the Queen, Ciel works tirelessly to track down any information regarding his parent’s deaths, and anyone related to that incident or his enslavement that followed.

However, Ciel is a child, and he is shown to act that way on occasions. He views his life as a long game, with himself as the king, and everyone else as the pieces below him that he controls. He reacts in a juvenile manner if and when Sebastian teases him about something, most often scowling and pouting about it, or retorting out of annoyance. He isn’t self-sufficient, needing to be rescued by Sebastian when kidnapped or in danger, and having most things done for him by the demon. These include getting dressed, making food, gathering information, getting into the circus, fighting, etc. When he attempts to do some of these things and fails, he is surprised himself by how much Sebastian really does get done for him. However, he typically overlooks these common occurrences and dismisses them as convenient parts of the contract, not realizing the hole he is digging for himself in the process.

why do you feel this character would be appropriate to the setting?
Even though he is only thirteen, Ciel is shown to be mature beyond his years (in some ways,) as he was forced to grow up a bit after his parents’ deaths. He has faced many horrors in his past, and has had to make great adjustments in his life. Because of his prior experiences with difficult situations and responsibilities, I feel that he would work well in the game’s setting.

Network Post Sample: [*Click!* When the feed begins rolling, there appears the face of a one Ciel Phantomhive, and he doesn’t look particularly pleased. Heaving a slow, heavy sigh, the boy lifts his chin at the screen, appearing to study the contraption before he speaks.]

My name is Ciel Phantomhive… if you aren’t already aware. I’ve been taken from my home, and now I’ve been brought to this place of which I know nothing. If someone would be so kind as to inform of my whereabouts…

[There was something else… ah! Ciel clears his throat before speaking again.]

And, if anyone has seen a tall butler wandering about, that would be beneficial for me to know, too.

(Also, here, under a different username, is another first-person reference.)

Third Person Sample: It was like every other time he had been kidnapped. Slight dizziness, some trouble breathing, waking up in an unknown location. Ciel swallowed, brow twitching in irritation. Why wouldn’t these damned people just leave well enough alone? This was so troublesome, to have to factor in these little detours to his already full schedule…

"Perfect," he muttered, glancing around at his surroundings. It was a room of some sort, and not one in the best shape. The Earl sighed and got to his feet, praying that Sebastian was on his way, if not already here. If he hurried, he wouldn’t have to waste the day completely. He looked toward a nearby window and moved toward it, hoping that it would give him a clue as to his whereabouts—

He breathed, slightly awed, and at the same time, was perplexed. He had no idea where he was… some very strange, very foreign country. The place was unlike anything he had ever seen. Actually… well, that wasn’t entirely true. There were some bits of it, he saw, that looked vaguely familiar. As if someone had taken things he knew and put some kind of twist on them so that they only reminded him of home. How queer.

"Where exactly…?" he said aloud, putting a hand against the window pane. Already, he knew that this was going to be a long, trying day. Perhaps even more so than usual. Ciel brought his gaze away from the new, outside world, casting his room another scrutinizing look. He could stay here, of course, and await Sebastian’s arrival. There was no doubt in his mind that the demon would appear, especially if he did the calling. Still, though… there was something about this place that beckoned him to explore. And, he had never been one for following rules (unless they were Her Majesty’s.)

A smile tugged at the corners of the boy’s lips, and he moved toward the door.

"Reconnaissance, then," he chuckled, and left the room.

Anything else? Ciel is allergic to cats, and had asthma as a child, which still comes back to attack when he is overly stressed. His birthday is December 14th.
